The hotel Puerta de las Granadas has an unbeatable location in the historic center just steps away from the Alhambra, Cathedral, the Albayzin, monuments, museums, festivals, restaurants, tapas, so that you can easily enjoy the city and all its charm all the time. The whole of Granada just steps away.

This is a charming hotel with 16 rooms. The building is from the 19th century and was renovated as a hotel in 2004, with minimalist decoration, central air conditioning and heating, insulation for temperature and soundproofing, and DSL Internet connection.

 

GUEST ROOMS

The hotel has 16 fully equipped rooms. Two special rooms are available:

  • Mirador Alhambra, with magnificent views of the Cathedral, the Albayzinn and the Torre de la Vela.
  • Mirador Catedral, which has just as beautiful views of the Albayzin, the Cathedral and the Carmen del Mauror.

14 Mauror and Gomérez Rooms.

All rooms are doubles with two twin beds, except for three on the side overlooking the Mauror, which have a double bed.

LOCATION AND ENVIRONMENT

Thanks to the hotel's excellent location, travellers can have a very comfortable stay in the historic quarter of the city and walk to the city's most important monuments and traditional as well as popular places.

  • Alhambra

Only 150 meters away you come to the Puerta de las Granadas gate, which marks the start of the Alhambra and was built over the “Bib al Buxar” or “Gate of Glad Tidings”, a defense fort that was one of the entrances to the town.

  • Albayzin

The Plaza Nueva or New Square, is 50 meters away. This large square has outdoor cafes, typical taverns and souvenier shops. After passing the 16th-century building of the Royal Chancery, which is now the Palace of Justice, the Carrera del Darro begins; this street will take you to the Albayzin neighborhood which has been declared a World Heritage Site.

  • Cathedral and Royal Chapel

If you walk from the Plaza Nueva 200 m. to the left you will come across the Cathedral and the Chapel of the Catholic Monarchs, monuments from the 15th and 16th centuries. You will find yourself in Granada's main shopping and institutional district.

  • Sierra Nevada

During you stay in Granada you can enjoy the pleasures the Sierra Nevada such as the southernmost ski resort in Europe with the most sunny days per season, which is only 30 minutes from our hotel.

  • Alpujarras

We will help you plan an itinerary for a trip to the southern side of the Sierra Nevada to see the villages, people, cuisine and magnificent landscapes found there.

  • Beach

If you like the beach, only 50 minutes away you can enjoy all the attractions and the special tropical microclimate of our coast.

 

ACCESS BY CAR

  • If you are coming to Granada on the A-44, take exit 125 heading towards AV. ANDALUCIA-CENTRO and follow the signs to the Caleta parking garage.
  • If you are coming to Granada on Andalusia's A-92, take off at exit 230 SANTAFE and go 11 km. until you get to Granada. It will take you directly to the AV. ANDALUCIA. Then follow the signs to the Caleta parking garage.

We recommend that our guests park their cars in a parking garage outside the city center on your way into Granada, and then take a taxi to the hotel. Forget about your car and you won't have to put up with Granada's downtown traffic jams.
